Croatian National Educational Standard schools

Zagreb - The Commission for the selection of schools for experimental enforcement and implementation of professional training for the teachers and expert co-operators in relation to the introduction of the CNES into the Croatian elementary school system selected 49 elementary schools. The Commission has in its decision appointed members to the Institute for Education. It is composed of the representatives of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and its co-operators and the Institute for Education of the Republic of Croatia. These are the members: Vladimir Paar PhD., Vini Rakić MA., Nevenka Pašalić BA., Marija Ivanković BA., Ingrid Jurela Jarak BA., Mirela Barbaroša Šikić BA., Vladimira Brezak BA. and teacher Đurđa Kulušić.

All together 146 elementary schools from all counties of the Republic of Croatia applied for the project. All the applicants filled in and delivered a CNES-QUESTIONNAIRE to the Institute for Education.

General criteria applied by the Commission:

  • Equal representation of elementary schools per counties (minimum two schools per county, with the exception of the counties with a larger number of elementary schools)
  • Elementary school status: schools on islands, schools in mountainous areas and schools on the territory under special state care
  • Elementary schools whose teachers participated in creating the CNES
  • Elementary schools whose teachers are heads of the counties’ expert councils
